Question about this store bought wig..?

I bought a wig for Halloween. It's a long, blonde straight wig.. It is really ratty and I know the wiggs aren't supposed to be exactly as they show on the front picture but is there a way I can get it close? Is it wash-able with like shampoo and conditioner or something? Anything that would help?? Thanks!
