Is it still safe to use?

Being the idiot that I am, I forgot to check my pockets when doing the laundry. I put my shorts in the dryer with Apple headphones in my pockets. 18 minutes later (exactly), I heard this weird noise so I opened the dryer and saw my headphones all tangled in a ball. They were kinda hot but not really. I left them to sit for 15 minutes, and I untangled them. They still work, but I was wondering if it's safe to use them because they've been in the dryer for 18 minutes? Could I get some ear infection or something? Please help!
