Cricket in my dorm room. How long will it live?

Let me just say that I feel your pain....When I went to school the same exact thing happend to me, Their was a crickit in the vent above our room. It was very annoying, it had stayed all week and luckily by the time I came back from home on the weekend something had happend and it went away.
