Is Rampage a Chump?

Yeah that was just an attention grabber, the real question is did the UFC do their former LHW Champion a misdeed by giving Rampage a title shot so early, I know I as a MMA fan got a hard-on when they announced a Chuck/Rampage rematch, but with UFCs spring of popularity I would fair to say that 50% of the people who saw UFC 71 Live or on PPV had no knowledge of Quinton Jackson prior to his fight with Marvin Eastman. Based on that fight alone Jackson did not deserve a title shot in the minds of new fans. I have always been a Rampage fan but it struck me when I heard several people who are new fans of the sport express such hatred for the newly crowned champ because of his post-fight comments. I thought they were rather humorous but now thats its said and done I really wish Rampage had gotten a few more fights like he requested to build up his name to the American audience. But hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
