Anyone else experiencing controller lag with borderlands?

i bought a used borderlands recently, and when i try to play it on my ps3 i get some annoying controller lag. I dont use HDMI, because my tv doesnt support it, but that isnt the problem really seeing that all my other games run smooth. Its only the Boderlands game that has some lag to it. and no, its not my internett, cause i also play singleplayer and it happens.
